A Warm Day in the Middle of Winter

The more I am getting old the more I hate dressing and layering up for a cold days on a bike. I don't know why, I guess I’m gonna find out when I'm old and my joints are rusty. Or, is there possibly another reason? Time will tell…

Anyway, on this day the weather forecast was merciful and it should be pretty nice. Temperatures above zero and mostly sunny during the ride. Hopefully it’s gonna stay this way.

Pavel’s last check for all the necessary stuff. Snacks and batteries for his camera, check.

Right off the start we knew that we did overdress. The temperatures were pretty toasty so we had to adjust the layers. But! I bet there’s gonna be a time to put the jackets back.

Crunchy!

After some tarmac we finally hit some gravel. We couldn't a taste of the sweet crunchy sound for almost month and a half because of the snow. Pavel had to adjust pressure to comfy gravel level and we could roll off to meet our steepest climb of the day.

To be honest, I was puffing like steam locomotive climbing this hill. It’s gonna take some time and effort to get back in shape.

Despite me being fat and sweaty, the views were stellar. I have to say, every time I go somewhere I've never been before something amazes me and this keeps me going on more adventures because I want to see more.

Lunch, snack and time to pull out and put on the jackets back. There is downhill coming up and we have a feeling it’s gonna be a little bit chilly.

We descended through a nice valley that was cold but filled with sunlight and reflections and a rambling creek, pretty nice.

And that’s it, after the valley spat us out at the bottom we just cruised along the back roads between small villages back home. If you feel like trying this route, click the button bellow to download the GPS data. This route is gonna be nice pretty much in every season but winter.
