GR23–The new lookout.
I hadn't been on a bike for at least four days. The weather wasn't that good, so I didn't feel like riding. Thursday was critical and withdrawal set in–I have to go for a ride. A quick text to Pavel and we agreed to ride in the evening. We decided on a route that we had left last time because of rain. The evening was sunny and the sky was full of small clouds. The temperature was cooler than usual. I have to bring gloves.
It took a while to get up to speed. After four days, my feet started to forget how to pedal. It didn't take long to get the hang of it. The sun was slowly setting and we were getting closer to our destination. I planned a route to a place I hadn't been before, where an unfamiliar road led. And it had to be explored.
The turnoff is here, we turn left and head into the unknown. I mean, we both have an idea where we're going, but what lies in between, neither of us knows. After a few hundred meters we come to a beautiful view! Pavel and I are both surprised at what we have discovered.
We have to find a name for this place!
We move on, leaving the light on for the rest of our journey. The descent through the forest was quite challenging, rocks, sticks and a sharp turn... we made it through unscathed.
The descent into a shady valley and temperatures around 6°C was quite a shock. But the climb out of the valley brought us right back into the sunshine. The rest of the way through Belkovice and straight back to Olomouc on a well known gravel road.
I love these exploratory rides! Finding something new is so much fun!
