Jeroboam 300/2024

It was really hard. The Jeroboam 300 Challenge says it all. I won't write about the fact that it was sometimes a steep uphill (sometimes too steep) and also really downhill. The macadam was flying through the air as we were going down the hill. The terrain was sometimes rough and sometimes very smooth and it was warm too. I'm also not going to write about the fact that we had a nice time stopping at cafes and getting water from the creek when it was at its worst. The fact that we started running away from the storm just before Paprsko and only escaped by the skin of our teeth isn't all that interesting either, and it's hard to describe. It must be obvious to everyone that after 173 kilometers and 3800 meters of climbing your body will be completely wrecked the next day. When the first hill shows you who's boss and that your legs aren't enough. You carry on anyway, put your head down and pedal as hard as you can. Even that feeling when you have the last 20 kilometers even and all you can think about is that you want to get it over with and have a cold beer.

Your body and mind will experience all this and maybe more. There's no way to convey this, either in words or pictures. You have to experience this for yourself.

It was tough, it was damn tough, but we did it. And I'm so proud of us.
