M–U–D
It all began on the last night ride.
The problem with previous rides were that we climbed one gets sweaty and hot. Once we headed downhill we got cold. So the idea behind this is go for a night ride with no big climbs or downhills. So that means, we can make the ride longer and we won’t get cold (climbing doesn't matter that much).
With this idea in mind I got really creative with my route making skills. I was clicking like crazy, servers at Ride With GPS were going crazy as well. They puffed with relief when I hit save button. I planned something I wasn't too sure about. There were places I’ve never ridden before therefore. I had zero idea what’s it gonna be like. I gave this idea an approximately 5 seconds of my brain-processing-time and said–fuck it–that’s what adventures are made of. Little did I know…
Everything was going according to the plan. But when we hit the unknown roads it kinda went sideways. Try to find a forest road in the dark forest that exists on your map but it’s not actually there. Trees look the same, ground is covered with leaves anywhere you turn. But! We were alway able to find our way. A little bit disoriented from the darkness around us we hit the last part of the forest. We found ourselves on the muddiest road that I’ve ridden. Shit, it wasn't even a road. Just two wide tracks with ankle deep squishy, sticky mud. There’s no point describing it, just look at the photos.
We survived the mud bath and successfully arrived home quite late. It was kinda adventure that happens only once and you want to experience it only once.
