Friends make it better, always.
Routine, some might say that it’s good for your but I came to a conclusion recently. Being used to same old same old, fucks with my mind. Read on if you’re interested in a short look into my head. If not, just scroll over to photos.
Imagine a 3.3 km route you take every day to work. You wake up, eat breakfasts, dress up, hop on your bike and you pedal. Every day, the same pavement, the same sidewalk, a bit of gravel, the red bridge you go over each time. It doesn’t change a bit, only when it rains with puddles, or there’s mist along the river or there are hundreds of pigeons sitting on a top of the red bridge. For a certain amount of rides the route is interesting, so many things to look at, new smells, a cat by some house you ride along and different cars everyday which you have to dodge and survive. Last year I logged #244 work commutes (there and back) and trust me, I know every meter of that route by heart. I bet if you put a blindfold on my eyes I would somehow make it to work. After this, let’s say a year long experiment I realized I don’t like the route, nothing’s new, the same pavement, the same sidewalk, a bit of gravel, the red bridge even the cat by that one house. Routine, it somehow “kills” the potential to make anything better. The good thing is, you can always change the route. No one will stop you. You can do anything (but not everything). Apply this to any situation you feel stuck at and you might find a way out of that situation.
Now, I totally forgot what I wanted to write about at first place. Well, I am just going to say this. I am glad our two good friends Janka and Vašek came to visit, we rode together, caught up on life and got plan some new upcoming adventures.
