The Pattern of Togetherness
I bet everyone is talking about how the season has started and how happy they are to finally get outside and enjoy their bikes—or whatever sport they love. Honestly, I think that’s great. I’m happy too, even though snow is still coming for sure. We haven’t had the Easter snow yet.
But what makes me even happier is seeing people excited to have a riding buddy—someone to ride with, talk with, and share experiences with.
For a long time—actually, most of the time—I didn’t really notice this. I’m slow and kind of dumb when it comes to realizing things that truly matter. Sorry, world. But at the start of this year, something clicked. A pattern started to emerge after a few rides, group rides, hikes, and strolls.
How did I notice the pattern? Simple—people told me. They sent messages saying how good it was that we rode together, talked, and had a great time.
A lot of you do these things for your friends and loved ones without even thinking about it. I think I do too. But for some reason, I’ve only now realized it—somewhere in this spring-ish weather.
So, I want to say thank you to everyone who has ridden or walked with me so far this year. I can’t wait for many more rides and walks ahead. And by thanking you, I’m also saying I’m grateful to have you all around—because I need you just as much as you need me.
